CCTV News (News Network): On the occasion of the arrival of the Year of the Snake in the Lunar New Year, our embassies and missions abroad held a variety of activities to celebrate the Spring Festival with friendly people from all walks of life in the area and talk about exchanges and cooperation.
The Chinese Embassy in North Korea recently held a Spring Festival reception. More than 150 people attended the meeting, including many relevant departments of the North Korean Party, government and military, diplomatic envoys from many countries, Chinese-funded institutions in North Korea, media, and overseas Chinese representatives. The guests enjoyed the wonderful performances, tasted Chinese food, and talked about deep friendship.
At the New Year reception held by the Chinese Embassy in Laos, the guests praised China's development achievements and experienced the Spring Festival customs such as writing blessing characters and guessing lantern riddles to celebrate the New Year together.
At the Spring Festival reception of the "Warm Spring Welcome and Celebrate the Chinese New Year" held by the Chinese Embassy in Germany, friendly people from all walks of life celebrated the festival together. The wonderful programs such as lion dance, martial arts, songs, and dance appeared one after another, and the audience was applauded continuously.
The Chinese Permanent Mission to Vienna recently held a New Year reception at the United Nations Headquarters in Vienna. More than 800 people, including heads of Vienna's international organizations and permanent representatives of various countries, attended the event. The guests appreciated China's active and constructive role in the Vienna multilateral platform and sent New Year's greetings to the Chinese people.
The Chinese embassies in Jordan, Bahrain, Mongolia, Trinidad and Tobago also held Spring Festival receptions and other activities. Politicians, friendly people, overseas Chinese, Chinese-funded institutions and international students gathered together to welcome the New Year, share friendship, and look forward to a better future together.
