CCTV News: When traveling on the high-speed rail, some careful passengers will find that the seats on the high-speed rail include A, B, C, D, and F, and they skip seats directly over E. Many friends were puzzled, and some netizens joked that "E ran to test everyone's vision." Why is there no Block E on the high-speed rail? Mastering some common sense of high-speed rail may be of some help to take the high-speed rail. Let’s take a look at today’s “Knowledge of Spring Festival Travel and how much does it know about high-speed rail”.

On the high-speed rail train, business seats adopt a "2+1" seat arrangement, that is, there are 2 seats on one side and one seat on the other. The first-class seats are represented by A, C, F, and the first-class seats are arranged in "2+2" seats, that is, there are two seats on both sides, respectively, A, C, D, and F. The second-class seats are arranged in "3+2" seats, one side of the three seats is represented by A, B, and C, and the other side of the two seats is represented by D and F. However, these seats do not have the seat E, so where has the E gone?

Wang Fang, the conductor of the Taiyuan Passenger Section of the National Railway Taiyuan Bureau, introduced that the reason why high-speed rail trains do not have seat E has to start with the aircraft cabin. Early single-aisle aircraft generally had 6 seats per row, namely A, B, C, D, E, F. "A, F" indicates the position against the window, "B, E" indicates the intermediate position, and "C, D" indicates the position against the aisle. Over time, the international practice of specific letters representing windows, aisles and middle seats is formed. High-speed rail continues this international practice. However, there are up to 5 seats in a row of high-speed rail. In addition to retaining specific letters by the window or corridor, starting from the large letters, so there are no "E" seats for high-speed rail EMUs.

With the knowledge of the arrangement rules for high-speed rail train seats, passengers can choose seats according to their needs. So how do you choose the seat you like?

Wang Fang also said that when logging in to the 12306 web page or mobile app, you can choose the travel date and number of trains. After submitting the order, you can enter the seat selection interface if there are sufficient tickets left. If you want a seat near the window, choose "A and F" and if you want to be close to the aisle, choose "C and D". If you can sit anywhere, don’t select an agent, just click “OK” and the system will automatically assign you seats.
