The 165th joint patrol and law enforcement operation on the Mekong River between China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand concluded successfully

On May 29, Chinese boat 53105, which was performing a joint training mission among China, Laos, and Myanmar, successfully returned to the Jingha Police Terminal in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, marking the successful conclusion of the 165th China-Laos, Myanmar-Thailand Mekong River joint patrol and law enforcement operation and a series of law enforcement cooperation and exchange activities.

The operation was officially launched on May 18. In accordance with the consensus reached by the relevant law enforcement agencies of China, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand, with the theme of "Working together to safeguard tranquility and escorting the Lancang-Mekong to benefit people's livelihood," the four-country joint patrol and law enforcement operations, including full-line joint patrol law enforcement, segmented patrols, and joint amphibious investigations, and the joint training operations of China, Laos, and Myanmar were carried out in stages.

During the operation, the four countries dispatched a total of 142 law enforcement teams and 5 law enforcement boats, which lasted 12 days and covered a total voyage of more than 1,200 kilometers; China successfully completed the rotation of the Chinese duty teams at the China-Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand Mekong River joint patrol and law enforcement contact points in Meng Mo and Ban Xiangguo, Laos.

During the seven-day joint training operation:

China, Laos and Myanmar jointly conducted 28 training and experience exchanges on navigation, guns, sails, engines, and on-site law enforcement, effectively improving the professional level of law enforcement teams from each country and the practical ability of joint law enforcement;

Focusing on cracking down on telecommunications network fraud, firearms and explosives, smuggling, smuggling and other illegal crimes, we carried out 7 joint water patrols and 4 joint land and water inspections, inspected 32 passing ships, 191 personnel, and inspected more than 7,600 tons of cargo, effectively deterring various illegal crimes in the Mekong River Basin.

The successful implementation of this series of operations will continue to promote in-depth and practical law enforcement cooperation and exchanges among the four countries, effectively safeguarding the safe and smooth flow of shipping on the Mekong River and the safety of lives and property of people along the coast.
