Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, April 27 (Reporter Wang Yueyang) The reporter learned from a regular press conference held by the National Energy Administration on April 27 that as of the end of March 2026, the total number of electric vehicle charging infrastructure in my country reached 21.481 million, a year-on-year increase of 46.9%. Among them, there are 4.863 million public charging facilities, with a total rated power of 234 million kilowatts; 16.618 million private charging facilities, with a reported installed power capacity of 147 million kVA.

Liu Mingyang, deputy director of the Electric Power Department of the National Energy Administration, said that the National Energy Administration continues to deepen the application of vehicle-grid interaction pilots, relying on the construction of the first batch of vehicle-grid interaction pilots, exploring market-oriented promotion paths, guiding local governments to improve price incentive policies, organizing enterprises to research and formulate technical standards, increasing the construction and renovation of reverse discharge equipment, carrying out large-scale actual testing applications, constantly exploring the potential of interaction between electric vehicles and the power grid, and achieving effective "problem-breaking" of technological innovation and model mechanisms.

“With the May Day holiday approaching, we will guide various localities to update existing old charging facilities, add temporary charging equipment, send more guidance personnel, carry out equipment maintenance in advance, and use information platforms to strengthen monitoring to ensure that charging services during the May Day period operate in an orderly, safe, reliable, standardized and efficient manner.” Liu Mingyang said.
