Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, February 21 (Reporters Ye Haoming and Wang Yuhao) Reporters learned from the Ministry of Transport on the 21st that on February 20 (the 19th day of Spring Festival travel, the fourth day of the first lunar month), the number of cross-regional personnel movements in society was 352.999 million, an increase of 12.3% over the same period in 2025 (February 1, the fourth day of the first lunar month), a record high.

Specifically, the number of highway personnel movements was 333.02 million, an increase of 12.1% over the same period in 2025. Among them, the number of non-commercial passenger car trips on expressways and ordinary national and provincial highways was 304.84 million, an increase of 12.8% over the same period in 2025; the commercial passenger traffic on highways was 28.18 million, an increase of 5.4% over the same period in 2025.

Railway passenger volume was 15.372 million, an increase of 14.9% over the same period in 2025; waterway passenger volume was 2.033 million, an increase of 38.3% over the same period in 2025; civil aviation passenger volume was 2.574 million, an increase of 8.2% over the same period in 2025.
