Annual oil and gas production of China's largest offshore oil field exceeds 40 million tons
2025-12-21 source:Xinhuanet

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, December 21 (Reporter Wang Yueyang) CNOOC announced on the 21st that the cumulative production of my country's largest offshore oil field, the Bohai Oilfield, will exceed 40 million tons of oil and gas equivalent in 2025, setting a record high and providing a solid guarantee for national energy security and high-quality economic and social development.

The Bohai Oilfield is my country’s main offshore oil field with the highest production and largest scale. It now has more than 60 producing oil and gas fields, more than 200 production facilities, and a cumulative production of more than 600 million tons of crude oil. In the past five years, the oil and gas production of the Bohai Oilfield has grown at an average annual rate of 5%, and the increase in crude oil accounts for nearly 40% of the total increase in the country.

The relevant person in charge of CNOOC Tianjin Branch said that in 2025, the production capacity construction of the Bohai Oilfield will be fully accelerated, and the drilling and completion operations throughout the year will reach a record high, effectively promoting the rapid completion and commissioning of multiple key projects including Kenli 10-2, Bozhong 26-6 and other 100-million-ton oil fields.

While making every effort to expand the production capacity of new oil fields, the annual crude oil output of the old oil fields in the Bohai Oilfield will exceed 32 million tons in 2025, stabilizing the "basic" output.

The Bohai Oilfield has accelerated its digital transformation and green and low-carbon development, made major breakthroughs in the localization of key equipment, and successfully put into use the first domestically produced shallow-water underwater production system. Qinhuangdao 32-6 Intelligent Oilfield empowers traditional oil and gas production through technologies such as unmanned operations and collaborative production and operation. In addition, the shore power application project of my country's largest offshore oil field group has been fully completed, with more than 80% of the oil fields connected to shore power.
