In 2024, more than 100 domestic and foreign blueberry planting companies have been established, becoming the main production area of ​​greenhouse base potted blueberries in the country.

At present, early-ripe blueberries are in the harvest season here, with ripe blueberries adorning the branches. Farmers are busy picking and packing them. These blueberries can appear in the markets in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other places within 24 hours.

The reporter learned that the most popular blueberry variety this year is the pure sweet "flower-scented blueberries". Depending on the size of the fruit, the land price is between 60 and 90 yuan per kilogram. Another selling point of blueberries this year is the "super-large" size. The fruit diameters of these super-large blueberries are generally 18-22mm, and some can even be above 24mm, and the price is even more than 100 yuan/kg.

It is worth noting that although the procurement popularity continues to grow, the price of blueberries has not risen simultaneously. The reporter learned that due to the rapid expansion of planting area, a large number of blueberries were launched in the market in a concentrated manner, and the average price of blueberries has also declined slightly.

Export volume is growing year by year, Yunnan blueberries are accelerating their entry into the world

Yunnan blueberries with plump particles and crispy and sweet taste are not only favored by domestic consumers, but are now increasingly abroad and are selling well overseas.

In this supermarket in Malaysia, many consumers are buying blueberries. The blueberries displayed on the shelves are from Yunnan, China, thousands of miles away.

The base in Chuxiong, Yunnan is sorting and packaging blueberries. In addition to Malaysia, it is also exported to seven countries including Indonesia, Thailand, Uzbekistan, etc.

Not only in Chuxiong, Yunnan, but also in Mengzi, Yunnan, blueberries have also ushered in export peaks. Blueberries will be sent to the factory for pre-cooling within one hour of picking. After the cooling reaches 10 degrees Celsius, they will be packaged, weighed, and plated in the packaging workshop, and then pre-cooled again. After the reduction to 0 degrees Celsius, they will enter the finished workshop and wait to be sent overseas.

In the past two years, Yunnan's blueberry exports have increased year by year. In 2024, 1,425 tons of blueberries were exported by Mongolian Customs alone, accounting for more than 50% of the country's blueberries exported during the same period. The products were exported to 10 countries and regions including Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, etc. From January to February this year, the export of blueberries regulated by Mongolian Zibo Customs reached 246 tons, an increase of 1.3 times year-on-year; the value of the goods was 12.58 million yuan, an increase of 1.9 times year-on-year.
