CCTV News: According to the website of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, recently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs held a promotion meeting on comprehensive soil acidification management in Beijing to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions and instructions on national food security and arable land protection, summarize and exchange the progress of acidified arable land governance in various places, analyze the situation and tasks, and study and deploy the next work. Zhang Xingwang, member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
The meeting pointed out that in recent years, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, in conjunction with relevant departments, conscientiously implemented the decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, supported and guided relevant regions to promote the governance of acidified cultivated land, and made phased progress. The pilot experiments have been gradually expanded, the governance model has been continuously optimized, and the scientific and technological support has been strengthened. However, acidified cultivated land management is a long-term, complex and arduous task, which requires perseverance and long-term efforts.
The meeting required that all localities should speed up the understanding of the underlying number of acidified arable land, comprehensively carry out evaluation of the acidification status of arable land, systematically plan acidified arable land governance projects, and promote its inclusion in the important agenda of local governments; strengthen overall implementation, technical guidance, supervision and evaluation, and investment guarantee, and ensure the construction of key counties for acidified arable land governance; strengthen scientific research on acidified arable land, integrate and innovate acid-controlled and acid-suppressed technology products and effective models to provide strong support for precise and efficient governance; actively guide the participation of the masses, fully mobilize the enthusiasm of the vast number of farmers and new business entities, and promote the governance, success, and driving one area.
The agricultural and rural departments of Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi and Hunan provinces made exchange speeches. Relevant departments and units of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs attended the meeting.
