CCTV News: As an important part of the 2025 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Meeting, the Global Conference on the Transformation of Scientific and Technological Achievements in Colleges and Universities is being held in Beijing University of Technology in the past two days. In addition to a number of exchanges and signing activities, the conference specially set up a global theme exhibition on the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in universities, with more than 70 cutting-edge scientific and technological achievements from domestic and foreign universities appearing in a concentrated manner.

At the theme exhibition on the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in universities around the world, various robots compete on the same stage. Some of them can pick vegetables and fruits, and some can respond to emergency rescue. This snake-shaped robot is mainly used for special environmental testing.

Bai Xingyu, an engineer of the Special Robot Project Team of the School of Artificial Intelligence of Nankai University, introduced that snake-shaped robots can climb over space, such as climbing some steps or even climbing trees. They are relatively small in size and can drill into places where people cannot go to work instead of people. For example, a deep underground space detection, including a nuclear power plant, has nuclear radiation, and the cost is relatively high if it is shut down once, so the machine can be replaced.

At the exhibition, many scientific and technological achievements serving major powers, green energy, and helping the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries were also exhibited. This intelligent optimization operation platform for the entire process of urban sewage treatment uses artificial intelligence to empower traditional sewage treatment plants.

Qiao Junfei, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Beijing University of Technology, introduced that in the past, a water plant treated sewage according to the highest level of pollution load, such as 1 million tons, but not the level of sewage pollution that comes every moment is so high. Now through machine learning, it is equivalent to finding the best running state for it, and just let every equipment run as much as possible to make it sufficient. There are now fifty or sixty water plants that have applications, and their energy consumption is generally reduced to about 50%.

It is understood that at this High School Promotion Conference, 93 universities from 20 countries and regions will also exchange and share in different forms on the construction mechanism of university science and technology parks and the transformation model of scientific and technological achievements that they explore.
