2. The cold air process caused low temperature freezing and snow disasters and wind and hail disasters in some areas, without causing major losses.
In February, three cold air processes affected my country, resulting in low temperature rain, snow, freezing and wind and hail disasters in some areas. Among them, the cold air process from 7 to 9 has a wide range of influence and a strong overall intensity. Affected by it, most areas in the central and eastern regions have a 5-12℃ cooling, and the local cooling exceeds 12℃. In February, low temperature freezing, snow disasters and wind and hail disasters caused 21,000 people to varying degrees in 10 provinces (regions) including Tibet, Yunnan, Jilin, Jiangsu, etc., to damage more than 600 houses, damaged nearly 400 houses, some old arch sheds and livestock pens, and frozen vegetables. In February, the national average precipitation was 10.6 mm, which was less than the same period last year. Local soils in southern southwest, southern southern China, central Jianghuai and other places have moderate moisture deficiency. The total runoff of major rivers in the country is nearly 20% less than that of the same period last year, and the water storage capacity of 9,520 key reservoirs is slightly higher than that of the same period last year. Affected by the early rainfall, the drought situation in Jiangxi, Zhejiang and other provinces has basically eased, but 26,000 people in Guangxi still need living assistance due to drought, and sugarcane in some areas suffers from drought. In addition, with the rise in temperature, the Ningmeng River section of the Yellow River opened on February 17. The four major rivers and 18 medium rivers in Heilongjiang Province were frozen across the board. The overall situation was stable and there was no danger and disaster.
4. Earthquake activity in mainland my country weakened, and the forest and grassland fire situation was generally stable. In February, three earthquakes of magnitude 4.0 or above occurred in mainland my country, which was significantly weakened from the average level of the same period in previous years. They were the magnitude 5.0 earthquake in Kuqa, Aktao 4.1 earthquake and the magnitude 4.2 earthquake in Jinfeng District, Yinchuan, Ningxia, and no obvious disaster losses were caused. According to statistics, there were 7 forest fires nationwide in February, including 4 in Tibet, 2 in Sichuan and 1 in Guangdong, causing no casualties; no grassland fires occurred nationwide.
