Chen Binhua, spokesperson of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, responded: "Peaceful reunification, one country, two systems" is our basic policy to resolve the Taiwan issue, the best way to achieve national reunification, and is most beneficial to compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait and the Chinese nation. To resolve the Taiwan issue, we are willing to strive for the prospect of peaceful reunification with the greatest sincerity and efforts. If the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces provoke and force, or even challenge the bottom line and break through the red line, we will have to take decisive measures.
At present, the situation in the Taiwan Strait is complex and severe, and the root cause is that the DPP authorities are colluding with external forces to continue to provoke "independence" and seriously endanger cross-strait relations and peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.
