Today (March 11), the third "Minister Channel" of the Third Session of the 14th National People's Congress was held in the Great Hall of the People. Minister of Culture and Tourism Sun Yeli was interviewed by reporters.
When mentioning the issue of how to cultivate the cultural and tourism industries into pillar industries, Sun Yeli said that first, we must strengthen planning guidance; second, we must strengthen infrastructure construction; third, we must accelerate the cultivation of new business formats, such as low-altitude tourism, marine tourism, immersive experience and other new business formats; fourth, we must optimize the business environment and standardize market order.
Sun Yeli introduced that in recent years, while the cultural tourism industry has developed rapidly, some problems have also arisen. For example, unreasonable low-priced tours and forced shopping, especially forced shopping, damage tourists' travel experience, infringe on consumers' rights and interests, deteriorate the local business environment, and damage the local image. These cases are infuriating, but these are phenomena that are constantly being fought and banned.
So, Sun Yeli said that this year, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism is ready to take special actions to govern these issues. On the one hand, we will increase the intensity of crackdown and punishment; on the other hand, we will continuously improve the legal system and strengthen the guidance of standards. At the same time, we will promote and build a culture of integrity in the whole society and strive to eradicate the chronic problems through multiple measures. For many other new problems, such as when a new work or product appears in the cultural and tourism industry, many companies will rush forward, causing disorder and even vicious competition. This problem also needs to be further strengthened to prevent bad money from driving out good money.
