Today (March 11), the third "Representative Channel" of the Third Session of the 14th National People's Congress was held in the Great Hall of the People. National People's Congress representative and Secretary of the Party Branch of Maodian Village, Wugongshan, Pingxiang, Jiangxi Province, accepted an interview with a reporter from China Central Radio and Television Station.
Tan Xinping said that only by moving the village’s high-quality agricultural and sideline products out of the mountains and selling them to the whole country can villagers increase their income.
Last year, the agricultural product distribution center settled in Maodian Village, matching advanced cold chain facilities, and formulated accurate planting plans based on market demand, allowing villagers to achieve order-based production. Mr. Xiao in the village said that in the past, he had to walk a few kilometers of mountain roads to the market town to sell vegetables. Sometimes he couldn't sell them all day long and didn't want to sell them. Now, as long as he picked them from the field and sent them to the distribution center, he could get cash. It was quite good, and he could use several acres of them.
In October last year, Maodian Village was fortunate to become the filming location of the General Station's "Home Between Mountains and Waters", attracting tourists from all over the country to check in. Seeing the changes in his hometown, many young people in the village returned to their hometowns to start businesses. The once remote abandoned land is now full of order-based agricultural products; the once idle houses have been transformed into a homestay that is hard to find. Our village has changed from an unknown mountain village to a well-known internet celebrity village, and the villagers' lives are getting more and more prosperous.
