CCTV News: In the next step, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs will further expand the scope of the "two new" policies to support facility agriculture, and promptly launch the renewal and transformation of facilities, animal husbandry, facility fishery and other fields. In Beibi Township, Xiapu County, Fujian Province, local farmers are guided to transform from traditional offshore cage farming to offshore raft-type hanging farming, and promote the scale and industrial development of the abalone industry.
Early in the morning, abalone farmers in Beibi Township, Xiapu County went out to sea with abalone fry. After coming to the abalone breeding waters, the farmers first sucked the cage from the sea, then put the abalone fry that had been packaged in advance into the abundance cage, and then slowly sank the cage into the sea. These breeding cages have 6 layers, and 90 abalone fry will be invested in each layer. According to reports, this batch of abalone fry has a total of 150 million pieces, which is the first batch of abalone cultivated in Beibi Township this spring. It can be harvested and put on the market after about 15 months of breeding.

Beibi Township is located at the end of Dongchong Peninsula, Fujian. The water quality here is good, the salinity is moderate, and the temperature is appropriate, providing an ideal environment for the growth of abalone.

In recent years, local farmers have guided farmers to transform from traditional offshore cage farming to offshore raft-type hanging farming, that is, using floating ropes to hang abalone cages outside the sea to improve the yield and quality of abalone, and promote the scale and industrial development of the abalone industry. This year, Beibi Township has 15,000 mu of abalone cultivated as a whole, with an output value of about 2 billion yuan.
