CCTV News: "Artificial Intelligence+", big models, biomanufacturing, quantum technology, embodied intelligence, 6G... This year's government work report is full of futuristic and technological sense. How to protect these "small seedlings" from developing and growing and growing into "tower trees" that promote economic development has become the focus of hot discussion among representatives and deputies.
At the Two Sessions, many representatives and deputies talked about the fact that their nano, atomic clocks, artificial intelligence chips, 6G and other fields have made some breakthroughs through advanced layout, scientific and technological research, and collaboration between industry, academia and research. However, the originality and basic innovation are still insufficient, and the situation where key technologies are subject to others has not fundamentally changed.
National People's Congress representative Li Dongsheng said: "It is very difficult for original technology to achieve a breakthrough from 0 to 1. The development of such projects must be inclusive. The success rate of development of such original technology is less than 50%, but we must insist on doing it and encourage everyone to try boldly."

National People's Congress representative Dong Mingzhu said: "One must master the key basic technologies in one's own hands. If the foundation is not well studied, your product is based on others' foundation and is not solid; the second is to cultivate a large number of independent talents; the third is to build on this platform, we continue to expand and extend upwards, such as AI technology."

National People's Congress representative Miao Wei said: "We will increase investment in basic research areas such as chips, operating systems, and databases. Because we now also need to participate in the formulation of standards and participate in the pre-research of future technologies. For example, including 6G, we are all participants in the formulation of major standards."

The representatives and deputies believe that the measures mentioned in the government work report, such as "supporting the wide application of big models", "strongly supporting and boldly using young scientific and technological talents", "making innovators more rewards", "supporting the development of unicorn enterprises and gazelle enterprises", are the next key points of work.
National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Zhao Xiaoguang said: "I especially agree with the 'development of new quality productivity according to local conditions' mentioned in the government work report. Some economic provinces can play the role of taking the lead and give full play to their advantages in talent, technology, economy, and finance and market supply and demand."

National CPPCC member Zhang Deqing said: "Introducing talents is very good, laying a better foundation for our future development. I think it is particularly emphasized here to improve the overseas talent introduction guarantee mechanism, optimize foreign talent services, and deepen the reform of the talent management and use system."

In the future, industries will attract more and more attention at the Two Sessions, because these industries are the "new engines" of future economic growth. China must seize the "hot spot" of future industries and not fall behind in global competition. At the same time, it must also enable the people to live a smarter, more convenient and more environmentally friendly life.
