Today (March 10), the third "Commission Channel" of the Third Session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference was held in the Great Hall of the People. Chen Xingcan, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and a researcher at the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, accepted an interview with reporters.
Chen Xingcan introduced that during the Spring Festival in 2025, from the first to the seventh day of the lunar month, museums across the country received 72 million visitors. The Yinxu Museum opened in February last year, and reached 1.8 million visitors in February this year; the Sanxingdui Museum received 6 million visitors last year.
There is a museum craze. Chen Xingcan believes that the main reason is that over the past 40 years of reform and opening up, the living standards have improved, the general public's requirements for spiritual life have been raised, and the requirements for material life have been raised. Therefore, as an important cultural product, museums have met to a certain extent a need for spiritual life by the general public.
Chen Xingcan said that it is a very happy thing for the general public to visit the museum and learn about history and understand the long-standing Chinese civilization through cultural relics. This also encourages archaeologists to do a good job in archaeological excavation and interpret and display cultural relics.
