The Weekly Report of the China Center for Disease Control and Prevention recently released the cervical cancer screening rate data in my country from 2023 to 2024, and the overall screening rate for women aged 35 to 64 is more than 50%.

Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women of childbearing age worldwide. In 2023, the National Health Commission and 10 other departments issued the "Action Plan for Accelerating the Elimination of Cervical Cancer (2023-2030)", setting the goal of "the coverage rate of cervical cancer screening for women of appropriate age in my country will reach 50% by 2025 and 70% by 2030."

From 2023 to 2024, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention team conducted a survey on the screening rate of cervical cancer in 31 provinces. The results show that the screening rate for women aged 35 to 64 reached 51.5%, while for women aged 20 and above, it was 36.8%. The overall screening rate for women aged 35 to 64 has achieved the 2025 target ahead of schedule. At the same time, nearly half of my country's regions have achieved their 2025 goals ahead of schedule. The rural screening coverage rate is 48.2%, still lower than the 2025 target.

Compared with developed countries, there is still a big gap in the current coverage of cervical cancer screening in my country. The Central Disease Control Team stated that important factors affecting the coverage of cervical cancer screening in women in my country include education level, family income, medical insurance, etc.
