CCTV News: The General Administration of Customs released data on March 7. In the first two months of this year, my country's total import and export value of goods was 6.54 trillion yuan, of which the export scale hit a record high in the same period, and my country's foreign trade started generally stable.

According to customs statistics, in the first two months of this year, my country's total import and export value of goods trade was 6.54 trillion yuan. Among them, exports were 3.88 trillion yuan, an increase of 3.4%; imports were 2.66 trillion yuan, a decrease of 7.3%.

In the first two months, my country's exports to ASEAN, the EU, the United States and Japan increased by 6.8%, 1.8%, 3.4%, and 2%, respectively, and exports to countries with jointly building the "Belt and Road" increased by 2.4%.

Lu Daliang, Director of the Statistical Analysis Department of the General Administration of Customs, said that in the first two months, all localities and departments actively responded to the adverse impact of the external environment, and my country's foreign trade operation was generally stable. Compared with last year, the first two months of this year were less than two working days. Excluding incomparable factors, imports and exports increased by 1.7%, fully reflecting the resilience of my country's foreign trade development.

The improvement of domestic manufacturing industry production has driven the growth of imports of related products

As enterprises resume work and production and operation activities have accelerated, the overall economic prosperity of my country has rebounded significantly. In the first two months, the improvement in domestic manufacturing production demand drove the growth of imports of related products.

Since this year, with the resumption of work and production of my country's manufacturing industry and the growth of investment demand, the demand for raw materials market has continued to rebound. Customs statistics show that in the first two months of this year, my country imported 1 trillion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, an increase of 3.2% year-on-year. Among them, the key components such as imported automatic data processing equipment, aircraft parts, etc. increased by 64% and 27.1% respectively, and special equipment such as light industry machinery, petrochemical machinery, textile machinery, etc. increased by 27.8%, 8.1% and 7.4% respectively.

Lu Daliang, Director of the Statistical Analysis Department of the General Administration of Customs, said that in February, my country's manufacturing PMI index returned to the expansion range, and the production demand of industries such as general equipment and electrical machinery and equipment was released rapidly, driving the rapid growth of imports of related equipment and key components.
