This morning, a SF Airlines Boeing 757 cargo aircraft carrying 2.57 tons of cross-border e-commerce cargo took off from Diwobao International Airport in Urumqi, Xinjiang, and flew to Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan after about 2 hours and 40 minutes. This marks the official opening of the first all-cargo route from Urumqi, China to Islamabad, Pakistan, and further smoothing the cross-border logistics channels between China and Pakistan.

It is reported that the route will carry out two round-trip flights per week, with a maximum cargo load of 26 tons per way, mainly serving cross-border e-commerce and high-value-added products transportation. Urumqi Diwobao International Airport opened an international freight inspection site on December 19 last year, shortening the customs clearance time of freight units by about 1 hour, significantly improving the port customs clearance efficiency.

Data from the entry and exit border inspection station of Urumqi, Xinjiang shows that as of early March, more than 700 international cargo flights have been inspected and released this year, and the number of clearance flights has increased by 9.2 times compared with the same period last year.

The opening of this route is an important measure for the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. It not only injects new impetus into economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, but also provides strong support for the stability of the regional industrial chain and supply chain. In the next step, Xinjiang will rely on its location advantages to accelerate the construction of a three-dimensional logistics network connecting Central Asia, South Asia and Europe.
