There are about 27.8 million people with hearing disabilities in my country, and cochlear implants are currently an effective method to treat deafness. However, the medical expenses of hundreds of thousands of yuan are discouraged by many patients. In December last year, the state organized the centralized procurement of cochlear implant medical consumables, and all three foreign-funded enterprises and two domestic-funded enterprises participated in the centralized procurement were selected. The demand for cochlear implants in this centralized procurement is 11,000 sets. In addition to commonly used clinical products, a new generation of cochlear implants that can support (3.0T) nuclear magnetism are selected. Patients who are implanted can undergo MRI examination.
From March 1, Tianjin will be the first to implement the national centralized procurement of cochlear implants for centralized procurement, and include the selected products in the scope of medical insurance reimbursement.
Doctors introduced that cochlear implant implants can restore part of their hearing. After language training, normal communication can be restored, especially for hearing-impaired children under the age of 3 who are in the golden period of the development of the auditory center. The inclusion of cochlear implants in centralized procurement will enable them to receive treatment as soon as possible, and hearing and language training are expected to produce better results.
