CCTV News: As the weather gets warmer, the salmon breeding base in Nilek County, Yili, Xinjiang has also become lively on the water. Workers are speeding up the fish fry binning operation, which means sorting the cultivated fry by size and putting them into different cages for the next step of scientific breeding.
Salmon fry should be cultivated in the hatchery for about 5 months, and then divided into different cages for breeding according to different specifications. Staff will customize exclusive nutritious meals based on the growth stage of the fry. The breeding base plans to release about 9.1 million fish fry this year, which grows into adult fish that can be caught after two and a half years. These adult fish will be fished according to the order demand. During fishing, the fish will be suctioned from the breeding cage into the pipeline through the fish suction pump and will be directly sent to the operation workshop with the water flow.

Salmon fishing team employee Ahelan Yeshan Nali said: "We have a lot of orders recently, and the daily fishing orders are about 7,000-8,000."

Far away from the ocean, Xinjiang has more than 46 million mu of fishy waters, especially the cold water resources formed by melting water from alpine ice and snow. It has excellent water quality and abundant dissolved oxygen, providing a suitable environment for the growth and breeding of salmon. In recent years, Xinjiang salmon has not only been popular in the country, but has also been sold overseas in large quantities.
