CCTV News: On January 7 this year, the magnitude 6.8 earthquake in Dingri County, Tibet caused damage to 79 schools here to varying degrees. On March 5, school will be resumed here soon. On March 1, schools in the 6.8-magnitude earthquake-stricken area in Dingri, Tibet welcomed the first batch of students returning to school. The reporter saw at the scene that 16 buses went to 9 townships including the hard-hit areas in 4 batches to welcome the first batch of junior high school students.

In order to ensure the safety of students, Dingri County sent a bus to transfer middle school students from various townships and three primary schools from relocated to the county school in batches.

According to statistics, this 6.8-magnitude earthquake in Dingri, Tibet caused damage to 79 schools in varying degrees. The local government organized education, housing and construction, emergency departments and other departments to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the safety of school buildings in the disaster area as soon as possible. According to the evaluation results, 76 of these 79 schools need to carry out anti-insurance repair and maintenance work, while Changsuo Primary School, Cuoguo Primary School and Quluo Primary School located in the severely affected areas of the earthquake were seriously damaged and needed to be rebuilt.

According to Wang Ren, director of the Education Bureau of Dingri County, Shigatse City, Tibet, after the assessment, the overall school building poses certain safety risks, so the Education Bureau decided to move the students of these three schools to the county town for centralized resettlement.
