CCTV News: According to the Ministry of Commerce, the head of the Department of Trade in Services of the Ministry of Commerce introduced the development of trade in services from January to August 2026.
From January to August 2026, my country’s total service import and export volume was 5.07016 billion yuan (RMB, the same below), a year-on-year increase of 7.9%.Among them, exports were 1.99961 billion yuan, an increase of 14.8%; imports were 3.07055 billion yuan, an increase of 3.8%.The service trade deficit was 1.07094 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 145.12 billion yuan.It mainly presents the following characteristics:
Travel and transportation service exports contributed nearly 50% to the growth of overall service exports.From January to August, the export of travel services was 275.17 billion yuan, an increase of 15.3%, and the export of transportation services was 420.26 billion yuan, an increase of 28.2%.The contribution rates of travel and transportation service exports to the growth of overall service exports were 14.1% and 35.8% respectively.
Knowledge-intensive service exports account for more than half.From January to August, the import and export of knowledge-intensive services was 2,231.4 billion yuan, an increase of 6.6%, accounting for 44% of the total service import and export.Exports of knowledge-intensive services were 1,074.47 billion yuan, an increase of 10.9%, accounting for 53.7% of service exports; among them, personal cultural and entertainment services and financial services grew the fastest, with growth rates of 66% and 21.6% respectively.Imports of knowledge-intensive services were 1,156.93 billion yuan, an increase of 2.8%, accounting for 37.7% of service imports.
