Analyzing the source information of commercial bribery cases in the field of pharmaceutical purchase and sales in the past three years, it was found that the internal education management of some medical institutions is lax and lax, and their staff have accepted commercial bribes from untrustworthy enterprises more frequently, in larger amounts, and for a longer period of time.Following the public exposure of a bribery case involving stent balloons by a Shanghai science and trade company, the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University "received a kickback of 5,000 yuan for each stent". In the second half of 2025 alone, the hospital was involved in 9 judicial and criminal judgments.The staff of the hospital accepted commercial bribes 46 times, with the maximum amount involved in a single case being 16.58 million yuan, the longest duration being 11 years, and the cumulative amount involved being 184 million yuan.

The analysis found that more than 30 pharmaceutical companies have long-term bribed the hospital staff.Among them, 11 companies including Hebei Xiangen Medical Equipment Trading Co., Ltd., Beijing Jinkaihui Medical Equipment Co., Ltd., Hebei Mingshi Medical Equipment Trading Co., Ltd., and Shijiazhuang Shangdaoxuan Medical Equipment Trading Co., Ltd. were involved in bribery crimes.In order to sell medical consumables at inflated prices to Hebei Medical University Second Hospital, Hebei Xiangen Medical Equipment Trading Co., Ltd. paid a total of 20.64 million yuan in bribes to the staff of the hospital.The pharmaceutical products involved are mainly medical consumables such as intraocular lenses, drug-eluting stent systems, rapid exchange balloon dilatation catheters, pacemakers and bioabsorbable medical films. There are more than 30 types, and the cumulative bribe amount is approximately 174 million yuan.There are 10 other drugs involved, including Naproxen Sodium for Injection, Oxiracetam Injection, Lansoprazole for Injection and Sodium Mephene Hydrochloride Injection, etc. The total bribe amount is about 10 million yuan.

The National Medical Insurance Administration stated that in the next step, it will continue to optimize the price procurement credit evaluation system and strengthen the penetration of marketing authorization holders.
