At the 7th Qihuang Forum of the Chinese Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine held today, a relevant person in charge of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine introduced that as of the end of 2024, my country's fourth national Chinese medicine resource survey collected more than 3.1 million physical samples and found 207 new species. After research, about 65% of the new species have potential medicinal value.
The census has fully understood the types and distribution of 18,817 Chinese medicine resources in my country, laying the foundation for the protection and sustainable use of Chinese medicine resources.
