On April 22, the 2025 National Urban Tour Recruitment Jinhua Yiwu Station event was launched in Yiwu, Zhejiang, and more than 200 international youths participated in the spring recruitment on the spot.
"Yiwu's import and export business is very famous. I come here to find a job and a chance to start a business." Khalil, an international student, said that he plans to find a job in the foreign trade field first and then open a foreign trade company in the future.
International student Victor intends to be his boss directly. "I don't look for a job, I'll come here to find a partner." He said that after learning that there are relatively concentrated recruitment activities for commercial enterprises here, he planned to come to "one-stop" to understand Yiwu's foreign trade development and seek business opportunities.
Data shows that in this job fair, the human resources managers of more than 600 commercial enterprises recruited 13,500 positions, attracting more than 11,000 job seekers to negotiate.
"Today I signed a job on the BtoB (i.e., business-to-business) platform. Simply put, it is to export Chinese goods to buyers in Africa, and the salary is quite considerable." said Emmanuel, a foreign operation specialist.
"Overseas talents are an important force in the 'global trading'. In order to broaden the attracting channels for overseas talents such as international students, since 2024, we have taken the lead in the country to carry out comprehensive reform pilot projects for foreigners to invest and start businesses in China, and first explore the connection mechanism between professional skills level certification and work permits for foreign talents in the field of trade." A relevant person in charge of the Yiwu Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau said.
Yiwu is a city built on the market, connecting more than 230 countries and regions around the world on one end and more than 2.1 million Chinese companies on the other end. In March this year, Yiwu official built the first international youth entrepreneurship incubation base in Zhejiang Province in the local area, providing foreign talents with guidance services such as enterprise registration, work permits to come to China, and social security payment. International youth have basically achieved "starting a business with bags".
It is reported that Yiwu will next develop special professional ability assessment standards such as "cross-border e-commerce live broadcast", and carry out skills training cooperation with Moroccan Business School and other countries to build the "Belt and Road" country.
