A reporter asked: On April 17, the Office of the United States Trade Representative announced the final measures for the 301 investigation in China's maritime, logistics and shipbuilding. What is the response of the Ministry of Commerce?

A: China has noticed that on April 17, Eastern Time, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative announced the final measures for the 301 investigation in China's maritime, logistics and shipbuilding. Over the past year, China has repeatedly stated its position in response to the US 301 investigation and provided China's position non-document, requiring the US to correct its wrong practices based on objective facts and stop blaming China for the problems faced by its own industrial development. At the hearing held by the US not long ago, most representatives of industry in various countries expressed opposition to the US measures, and there were also strong oppositions within the US. But the US still insists on releasing relevant restrictions. China strongly dissatisfied with this and firmly opposed it.

The US measures fully expose the essence of its unilateralist and protectionist policies. They are typical non-market practices, with obvious discriminatory colors, seriously damage the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies, seriously disrupt the stability of global production and supply chains, seriously violate the rules-based multilateral trading system and international economic and trade order.

China urges the US to respect facts and multilateral economic and trade rules, abide by the principles of market economy and fair competition, stop "passing the blame" and correcting wrong practices as soon as possible. China will closely monitor the relevant trends of the US and will resolutely take necessary measures to safeguard its rights and interests.
