CCTV News: At present, the number of elderly people over 60 years old in China has exceeded 300 million, the number of elderly people over 65 years old has reached 220 million, and more than 30 million infants and young children under 3 years old. Housekeeping services such as elderly care and childcare have become rigid demands. To this end, the Ministry of Commerce and other departments of China have formulated the "Several Measures to Promote the Expansion and Upgrading of Consumption of Housekeeping Services", and proposed 12 key measures in four aspects: improving the quality of supply of housekeeping services, promoting convenient consumption, improving support policies, and optimizing the consumption environment. The variety of housekeeping services will be more abundant.

Measures encourage housekeeping service companies to expand emerging service areas such as in-depth cleaning, sorting and storage, strengthen cross-border cooperation, and further enrich the supply of products and services. Encourage innovative service models, provide order-based and time-divided services, explore "micro-demands", and provide "micro-services" to meet consumers' shared housekeeping services such as cleaning, cooking, pick-up and drop-off.

Using housekeeping services will be more at ease

The Ministry of Commerce will implement an electronic version of the "Home Home Service Certificate" to show consumers the employment information of housekeeping waiters in accordance with the law and regulations. The Ministry of Commerce has established a national government service credit information management platform, which collects credit records of housekeeping enterprises and housekeeping waiters for consumers to inquire. As of the end of March 2025, the housekeeping service credit information platform has collected credit information from more than 20,000 companies and more than 16.7 million housekeeping waiter credit information, with more than 230 million visits.

Housekeeping services will have national standards

The Ministry of Commerce cooperates with the State Administration for Market Regulation and other departments to accelerate the application and promotion of national standards in the field of housekeeping, and has promoted the construction of national standardization pilot demonstrations in the field of housekeeping services. Two key national standards in the field of housekeeping, "Home Services, Maternal and Infant Care Services Quality Standards" and "Home Care Services for Infants and Toddlers aged 0 to 3 years old", have been officially implemented on March 1, 2025.

Kong Dejun, Director of the Service Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce of China, said: "Accelerate the formulation and revision of a number of national and industry standards in the field of housekeeping, give priority to filling in the gaps in the service of the 'old and young', and promote the improvement of the quality of housekeeping services."
