On April 18, as on-site workers smoothly laid the first pair of 500-meter-long rails on the ballastless track plates, marking the official start of the entire track laying construction of the West Extension High-speed Railway, the construction of the West Extension High-speed Railway has entered the final stage of breakthrough.

The Xisheng High-speed Railway crosses the gully area of the Loess Plateau. The terrain and geology along the line are complex. There are 47 tunnels and 67 super-large and medium-sized bridges. The bridge-tunnel ratio is as high as 91%. There are 16 construction sites involving the long ramp track laying area, with a maximum slope ratio of 30‰. It is difficult to transport and lay long rails, and there are many cross-construction operations, and the safety risks and accuracy requirements are very high. The Xiyan High-speed Railway Track Paving Base is located in Yanliang District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. It is responsible for the construction of 616.34 kilometers of track paving on the entire line, including 592.74 kilometers of main line track paving, 23.6 kilometers of station line track paving and 140 groups of turnouts.
In order to ensure the safety, quality and efficient promotion of rail laying construction, the construction unit adopts the current domestic advanced intelligent engineering line scheduling information platform to remotely monitor the operating status of key equipment such as rail laying units, long-rail transportation trains, mobile welding rails, etc. It can be equipped with intelligent prediction modules to realize visual intelligent management and advanced warning of safety hazards, and build a solid scientific and technological defense line for construction safety.

The project construction personnel also carried out dual-line collaborative operations through the independently developed two-line long-track rail laying units in this neighboring two-line long-track rail laying base, and took the Yanliang rail laying base in Xi'an as the dividing point, and started track laying operations in both directions at the same time. They were equipped with two sets of rail laying machines and three sets of long-track transportation brackets to achieve efficient continuation of rail laying operations. The daily rail laying mileage can reach 9.5 kilometers, and it is expected to achieve "rail connection" on June 10.

The Xi'an-Yanvyo High-speed Railway is the first high-speed railway in the old revolutionary base in northern Shaanxi and an important part of the National High-speed Railway Network Baoyinhai High-speed Railway Channel. The total length of the line is 299.8 kilometers, the construction standard is a dual-line high-speed railway, with a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. After the line is completed and put into operation, the operating time from Xi'an to Yan'an will be shortened from the current 2.5 hours to about 1 hour.
