The spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce answered questions from reporters on the US tariff rate against China.
A reporter asked: On April 15, Eastern Time, the White House website released a list of facts about the investigation of key minerals and derivatives 232, mentioning that because China has taken retaliatory measures against the US's "reciprocal tariffs", Chinese goods exported to the US are now facing up to 245% tariffs. Does this mean that the US has raised tariffs on China again? What is the Ministry of Commerce’s comment on this?
A: China has noticed that the cumulative tariffs on various names of individual commodities exported by China to various products have reached 245%. This fully exposes that the US has reached an irrational level of instrumentalization and weaponization of tariffs. China has previously stated its position on the unilateral tariff imposition of the United States many times, and China ignores this meaningless digital game of tariffs. But if the US insists on continuing to substantially infringe on China's rights and interests, China will resolutely counter and stay with it to the end.
