CCTV News: At the press conference of the State Council Information Office on April 14, a relevant person in charge of the General Administration of Customs introduced that in the first quarter of 2025, China's foreign trade imports and exports achieved a stable start, with imports and exports of goods worth RMB 10.3 trillion, an increase of 1.3% year-on-year.




The press conference introduced that according to customs statistics, in the first quarter of 2025, China's import and export scale hit a record high in the same period, exceeding 10 trillion yuan for eight consecutive quarters. China's import and export of goods was RMB 10.3 trillion, an increase of 1.3% year-on-year. Among them, exports were 6.13 trillion yuan, an increase of 6.9%; imports were 4.17 trillion yuan, a decrease of 6%. The proportion of imports and exports of private enterprises has increased.

Wang Lingjun, deputy director of the General Administration of Customs, introduced that in the first quarter, my country's private enterprises imported and exported 5.85 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.8%, accounting for 56.8% of my country's total import and export value, an increase of 2.4 percentage points over the same period in 2024. During the same period, foreign-invested enterprises imported and exported RMB 2.99 trillion, an increase of 0.4%, accounting for 29% of the total import and export value.


The press conference introduced that in the first quarter, China's import and export of mechanical and electrical products grew rapidly, and the space for foreign cooperation was further expanded.

Wang Lingjun introduced that my country's trade with traditional markets has maintained strong resilience, and imports and exports to Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom and other countries have achieved rapid growth. The high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road" continues to go deeper and more practical, and the growth rate of imports and exports to countries with joint construction is 0.9 percentage points higher than the overall. Among them, it increased by 7.1% for ASEAN and 6.9% for the five Central Asian countries.

The press conference introduced that recently, the US government's abuse of tariffs has had a negative impact on global trade, including China and the United States. China resolutely implements necessary countermeasures to safeguard national sovereignty, security and development interests. At the same time, we will unswervingly promote high-level opening up to the outside world and carry out mutually beneficial and win-win economic and trade cooperation with all countries.
