On April 14, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Lin Jian presided over a regular press conference. A reporter asked, recently, in response to the US claim that it will impose visa restrictions on Chinese officials who are deeply involved in formulating and implementing policies to restrict foreigners from entering Tibet, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs once said that China will firmly counter the situation. Can China introduce specific countermeasures?
Lin Jian said that Tibet affairs are purely China's internal affairs. The United States has used Tibet-related issues to impose visa restrictions on Chinese officials, seriously violating international law and basic norms of international relations. In accordance with the relevant provisions of the "Foreign Relations Law of the People's Republic of China" and the "Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law of the People's Republic of China", China has decided to take reciprocal visa restrictions on US personnel who perform badly on Tibet issues. Tibet is open. China welcomes foreign friendly people to visit, travel and do business in China's Tibet area. At the same time, we oppose any person in any country using the so-called human rights, religion and culture as an excuse to interfere in Tibetan affairs, and opposes people with ulterior motives in the name of visiting Tibet to perform interference and destruction.
