CCTV News (News Network): The 137th China Import and Export Commodity Fair will be held on April 15. In recent days, all ports in Guangzhou have ushered in a peak in passenger and cargo entry. According to statistics from the Guangzhou Border Inspection General Station, since April, the average daily inbound and outbound number of people at Guangzhou ports has been nearly 50,000, an increase of about 21.7% year-on-year. Compared with the same period last year, the number of foreigners entering the country increased by 34.68% year-on-year; the number of foreigners entering the country with a commercial visa increased by more than 50.67% year-on-year. It is estimated that during the Canton Fair, the average number of people entering and leaving the country will exceed 51,000, and the average number of people entering and leaving the country will exceed 520 vehicles per day.
The reporter learned from Guangzhou Customs that since April, there have been 1,950 passenger and freight flights entering the Guangzhou port, an increase of about 22% year-on-year; imported air cargo exceeded 6,000 tons, an increase of 2% year-on-year. In order to cope with the peak of passenger and cargo customs clearance, Guangzhou Customs has opened a special window for customs clearance for the Canton Fair, and implemented a 24-hour intelligent customs clearance model for imported and exported goods to ensure efficient customs clearance for the Canton Fair.
