CCTV News: Against the backdrop of differentiation of momentum for global economic recovery and complex and changing international capital flows, China is building a "strong magnetic field" to attract foreign investment with a higher level of institutional openness, a more competitive business environment, and a more precise industrial layout. The "bain" industrial chain of major projects has been upgraded, and multinational enterprises have invested in confirming their confidence in development. The increase and expansion of foreign-invested giants resonate with my country's industrial upgrading. This is not only an intuitive reflection of my country's industrial chain competitiveness, but also provides a "barometer" for global capital investment in China.
From January to February 2025, 7,574 new foreign-invested enterprises were established nationwide, an increase of 5.8% year-on-year.
Recalling in 2024, 59,080 new foreign-invested enterprises were established nationwide, an increase of 9.9% year-on-year. Foreign capital accelerates the layout of new quality productivity, and the continuous optimization of the investment-attracting structure has become the biggest highlight.
From the industry perspective, the actual use of foreign capital in high-tech manufacturing industry is RMB 96.29 billion, accounting for 11.7% of the actual use of foreign capital in the country. The actual use of foreign capital in medical instruments and equipment and instrument manufacturing, professional technical services, and computer and office equipment manufacturing increased by 98.7%, 40.8% and 21.9% respectively.
Behind the increase in foreign capital is the reconstruction of the value coordinate system of the global industrial chain by China's science and technology wave. As of now, there are 189 "lighthouse factories" in the world. Among them, China's "lighthouse factories" account for more than 40% of the world's total. In the past five years, the rate of return on foreign direct investment in China has been about 9%, ranking among the top in the world.
