On the afternoon of April 12, a batch of Indonesian fresh coconuts arrived at Fuzhou Changle International Airport. After passing the customs quarantine, they will be transported to the production company in Fuzhou. This is the first time that my country has imported it in November 2024 after opening quarantine access to Indonesian fresh coconuts.
Lin Zhengrong, business manager of a food company in Fujian, introduced that they roughly arranged 10 boxes of fresh coconuts from Indonesia to Fuzhou this time, and will import fresh coconuts from Indonesia in a normalized and large-scale batches in the later stage, and gradually build a coconut production industry with complete upstream and downstream and comprehensive product types.
Indonesia is one of the world's major coconut growing and producers, and coconut exports account for about 38% of the total global coconut exports. In recent years, the domestic market has seen a growing demand for fresh coconuts, and coconut drinks such as coconut water and raw coconut latte are selling well. It is understood that in the future, the two countries will carry out more cooperation around coconut-related industries.
Song Jing, deputy director of the Fuqing Office of Rongcheng Customs, which belongs to Fuzhou Customs, said that China's huge market demand has provided a broad export space for Indonesian coconuts, which not only promotes the development of Indonesian coconut industry, but also drives the development of my country's coconut processing, cold chain logistics and other related industries. At present, 4 production lines have been put into production in Fuzhou in the China-Indian Coconut Industrial Park.
