On March 24, the China-ASEAN Free Trade Zone Special Joint Committee held in video. Officials of the ten ASEAN countries and officials from the ASEAN Secretariat attended the meeting. Both sides actively promote the resolution of the remaining matters in the 3.0 version of the Free Trade Zone upgrade protocol, and agree to complete the text legal review as soon as possible to prepare for signing the protocol.

On April 10, the ninth meeting of the SCO member states Investment Promotion Working Group was successfully held in Tianjin. At the meeting, 18 projects involving 8 countries were signed, with a total amount of 4.795 billion yuan.

On the same day, at the Mohan Railway Port located on the southwestern border of China, a China-Laos Railway International Freight Train carrying 1,600 tons of Laos commodities successfully entered the country through this. Kunming Customs data shows that in the first quarter of this year, 1.508 million tons of goods imported and exported from China-Laos Railway were 4.19 billion yuan, an increase of 9.2% and 17.5% year-on-year respectively.

"Deepen the integration of development, build a high-level interconnected network, and strengthen cooperation in the industrial chain and supply chain", the Central Peripheral Work Conference held recently clearly stated. Our country has a vast territory and a long border line. The surrounding area is an important foundation for achieving development and prosperity, the focus of safeguarding national security, the primary focus of planning the overall diplomatic situation, and the key to promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, we have put forward the concept of friendly, sincere, favorable and inclusive neighborhood diplomacy, and advocated the construction of a community with a shared future in the surrounding areas. At present, China has reached a consensus with 17 neighboring countries with a shared future, and signed a cooperation agreement on jointly building the "Belt and Road" with 25 neighboring countries, becoming the largest trading partner of the 18 countries.

Trade cooperation continues to expand -

On April 11, trucks loaded with mobile phone accessories, computer parts and other products were passing through the Pingxiang Friendship Pass port in Guangxi to Beining and Beijiang Province, Vietnam. "The Friendship Pass Port is the largest land port from China to Vietnam and even ASEAN, and it is also the main land channel serving the integrated development of the industrial chain and supply chain between China and Vietnam." A relevant person in charge of Nanning Customs introduced that in the first two months of this year, the import and export value of goods to ASEAN countries through the Friendship Pass Port was 72.23 billion yuan, an increase of 11.1% year-on-year. Among them, imports and exports to Vietnam were 61.04 billion yuan, an increase of 10.6% year-on-year.

China's trade exchanges with neighboring countries are mutually beneficial. From the perspective of imports, nearly 54% of China's imported goods are from countries jointly building the "Belt and Road" and China's super-large market continues to provide development opportunities for all countries. From the perspective of export, the goods exported by my country to neighboring countries include consumer goods, equipment, parts, etc., which has promoted the industrial development and improvement of people's livelihood in neighboring countries.

Two-way investment continues to expand -

The official opening of the China-Laos Railway and the Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway has allowed regional countries to realize the "rail dream" and "high-speed rail dream". A large number of projects such as the China-Central Asia Natural Gas Pipeline and China-Malaysia "Two Countries and Two Parks" have effectively promoted regional economic development and people's livelihood improvement. As a pioneering pilot project for jointly building the "Belt and Road", the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has driven more than US$25 billion in direct investment and created more than 230,000 jobs, which not only improved the level of China-Pakistan cooperation, but also promoted Pakistan's economic and social development.

In 2024, Chinese enterprises invested US$33.69 billion in non-financial direct investment in jointly building the "Belt and Road" countries, an increase of 5.4% over the previous year. The new contracts signed for foreign contract projects were US$232.48 billion, and the turnover was US$138.76 billion. The three-dimensional interconnection network continued to be improved.

The development foundation is more solid -

The Central Asia train has opened new routes, and the Western Land-Sea New Channel train has been launched for more than 10,000 trains per year... In recent years, China has deepened all-round cooperation with neighboring countries, strengthened exchanges in various fields, and promoted the common development of China and neighboring countries to be more solid.

Hold high the banner of a community with a shared future for mankind and work with neighboring countries to create a better future. At present, cooperation in jointly building the "Belt and Road" has provided acceleration for the high-quality development and modernization construction of neighboring countries. The three major global initiatives are pioneering in neighboring countries, and the Chinese solutions and Chinese concepts are deeply rooted in the hearts of the people in neighboring countries. China actively promotes cooperation under the frameworks of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, East Asia Cooperation, APEC, Asia Information and other institutions, builds a multi-level and cross-field cooperation platform, and works with neighboring countries to practice true multilateralism. On global issues such as climate change, cybersecurity, and sustainable development, China has communicated closely with neighboring countries and strengthened cooperation, injecting more stability and positive energy into the world.
