On April 10, the Guangdong Provincial Archives announced the first batch of initial archives of the Canton Fair in Guangzhou.


The published archives include: the "Ministry of Foreign Trade of the People's Republic of China Agrees to Hold the Export Commodity Fair in April" issued by the Ministry of Foreign Trade on March 4, 1957;
● "Perspective View of Qiaoguang Road Exhibition Hall" (August 9, 1957);
● The main elevation of the middle floor of the Qiyi Road Exhibition Hall (1958);
● Summary of the Contract Research Group's Work (1958);
● "Measures for the Implementation of Export Transaction Contracts in the Trade Fair" (1958).
There are both "birth paper" of the Canton Fair, as well as drawings for the construction of the Canton Fair exhibition hall, and a work summary reflecting the trade principles of "focusing on contracts and keeping trust" and "focusing on quality before weight" in the early stage of the Canton Fair.

The Guangdong Provincial Archives Collection 1,149 archives in the early days of the establishment of the Canton Fair (1956-1959), including document archives, construction drawings and photos. The complete system records the relevant situation in the preparation and holding of the Canton Fair, showing that the first generation of the Party’s central leadership collective took the opportunity of founding the Canton Fair, explored the development process of the exhibition model with Chinese characteristics.
