The mass line is the lifeline of the party and the fundamental work line. Adhering to the Party’s mass line and always maintaining the flesh-and-blood ties between the Party and the people is a "compulsory course" for the whole Party to implement the spirit of the Central Eight Regulations and promote work style construction. The vast majority of Party members and cadres should contact the masses with enthusiasm, integrate into the masses with sincerity, and serve the masses with passion, reflect their concern for the masses and concern for the people in all aspects of the entire process of performing duties and responsibilities, follow the Party’s mass line in the new era, and build the Party’s ruling foundation.

Whether the Party can maintain the flesh-and-blood ties with the people determines the success or failure of the Party’s cause. From the Party’s fundamental purpose of serving the people wholeheartedly and written into the Party Constitution during the Yan'an period, to the in-depth education and practice activities of the Party’s mass line throughout the Party, to the vast number of Party members and cadres taking responsibility and serving the masses in promoting high-quality development, strengthening grassroots governance, and completing urgent, difficult and dangerous tasks, history and reality have fully proved that the mass line has always been an important heirloom to maintain the Party’s youthful vitality and combat effectiveness.

Water can carry a boat, but it can also overturn the boat. The Party’s greatest political advantage is its close ties with the masses, and the greatest danger after the Party comes to power is its separation from the masses. For some time, some party members and cadres have been alienated from the masses and have become indifferent to the masses, have little knowledge of the people's sentiments, do not take public opinion seriously, and shirking the blame for the problems. In the long run, we can't talk to the masses or sit on the bench, throwing away the masses' views, standing in a wrong position, and going off the line.
