20 people died in a nursing home in Longhua County, Chengde, Hebei Province

Xinhua News Agency, Shijiazhuang, April 9 (Reporter Feng Weijian) The reporter learned from relevant departments of Chengde City, Hebei Province that a fire broke out in a nursing home in Longhua County, Chengde City, Hebei Province at around 21:00 on April 8. According to preliminary statistics, as of 3 a.m. on the 9th, the fire killed 20 people. At present, other elderly people in the nursing home have been transferred to nearby hospitals for further observation treatment. Expert groups at Hebei Province and Chengde City have gone to the place where the accident occurred to guide the rescue and aftermath work, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
