The digital transformation and upgrading region focuses on the main skeleton of the national comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network, closely connects with the first batch of eight digital transformation and upgrading areas, takes data resources as the key factor, and the integrated application of information and communication technology and the digital transformation of all factors as the main driving force. It promotes the large-scale implementation of innovative application scenarios in the highway and waterway field, promotes the intelligent expansion, safety and efficiency of transportation infrastructure, and promotes the process reengineering, system reshaping, and system reconstruction of the transportation industry, effectively improves public service capabilities, industry management efficiency and industrial collaborative innovation level.
Promoting the digital transformation and upgrading of transportation infrastructure is an important measure to implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the Central Economic Work Conference. It is understood that from 2024, after about three years, the two ministries and commissions plan to support about 30 areas and build a batch of integrated channels and networks, and strive to promote the digital transformation and upgrading of about 85% of busy national highways, about 25% of busy national highways and about 70% of important national highways.
