The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development issued a notice today (8th) that in 2025, the central government will continue to support some cities in implementing urban renewal actions through fixed subsidies.
According to the notice, in 2025, the scope of the central government's support for the implementation of urban renewal work is large cities and above, with no more than 20 cities selected, mainly tilting towards megacities and large cities along key river basins such as the Yellow River and the Pearl River.
The central government will provide fixed subsidies to cities implementing urban renewal actions according to the region. Among them: the total subsidy for each city in the eastern region shall not exceed 800 million yuan, the total subsidy for each city in the central region shall not exceed 1 billion yuan, the total subsidy for each city in the western region shall not exceed 1.2 billion yuan, and the total subsidy for each city in the municipality shall not exceed 1.2 billion yuan. Funds are allocated yearly according to the progress of work.
