CCTV News: The reporter learned from the Ministry of Commerce that on April 6, the Ministry of Commerce held a roundtable meeting for US-funded enterprises. Representatives from more than 20 American-funded companies including Tesla, GE Medical, and Medtronic attended the meeting. Ling Ji, Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy Representative for International Trade Negotiations, said that no matter how the international situation changes, China's policy of utilizing foreign investment will not change. The Ministry of Commerce will continue to provide protection for foreign-funded enterprises in China, including US-funded enterprises, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of foreign-funded enterprises in accordance with the law.
He said that in recent days, the United States has announced the abuse of tariffs on all trading partners, including China, under various excuses. China's countermeasures are not only to firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of enterprises, including US-funded enterprises, but also to prompt the United States to return to the correct track of the multilateral trading system. The root of the tariff problem lies in the United States. We hope that American-funded enterprises will make rational voices, take pragmatic actions, jointly maintain the stability of global production and supply chains, and promote win-win cooperation.
