Good morning everyone! Welcome to the "Great Man's Alma Mater, Red Cradle" - the First Normal School!

On March 18 last year, General Secretary Xi Jinping came here and said: The First Division is a good place to carry out patriotic education, and we must protect and make good use of this red resource. I was fortunate to listen to the General Secretary’s earnest teachings and earnest instructions on the spot. Those pictures are still vivid in my mind and unforgettable. I remember when the General Secretary walked into the hall, he stopped and stared at the school motto of Chairman Mao's inscription "Be the gentleman of the people, be the students of the people first". These fourteen big gilded characters shine with the light of Chairman Mao's thoughts of "becoming a mass student first" in Yan'an period, and it is also in line with General Secretary Xi Jinping's governing philosophy of "The country is the people, and the people are the country." Therefore, what the first teacher gave me and what we gave me is the spiritual inheritance of "people first" and the beacon of faith for the "small self" to integrate into the "big self".

The First Normal School gives me a humble and diligent way to study. The school motto "Be the students of the people first" warns us: true knowledge is not in the study, but in the wisdom of the people, in the fiery practice, and in the fragrance of the soil. More than a hundred years ago, the young Mao Zedong not only reads books with words, but also books with wordslessness: studying in many counties to examine the feelings of rural villagers, and sponsoring workers' night learning to awaken class awareness. Just as General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized that we should "receive the people as our teachers", today we should go into the village workshops as a "primary school student" and write the papers in the fields of rural revitalization and on the production line of intelligent manufacturing.

The First Normal School presented me with the lofty ambition to take responsibility. A hundred years ago, the students of the first teacher were not as good as the world, but were worried about the world and were in ragged clothes, but they shouted "to transform China and the world" and played the magnificent song of "to hit the water in the middle". These are all the sentences in the interpretation of the school motto, being the "men of the people". The responsibility of the ancestors of the first division is in line with the General Secretary’s affectionate message of “establishing ambition to serve the country and strengthen the country” and resonates with each other. Today, standing at the forefront of Chinese-style modernization, we must lead the track of scientific and technological innovation and be at the forefront of building a strong country with the spirit of "success does not have to be with me" and the spirit of "a strong country must have me".

The First Normal School has given me the light of faith that is determined to serve the people. The word "people" in the school motto is the original intention and the mission! From the firm oath of the New Min Society to "blatantly establish a Communist Party of China", to the solemn promise of the Communists in the new era, "I will have no self and live up to the people"; from the vast question of "who is in charge of ups and downs" by the first division, to the revitalization code of Shibadong Village, the monument for the people built with its hot and passionate blood shines brightly on the answer sheet of the times.
