CCTV News: During the spring plowing season, vegetable planting across the country has entered a busy period. Yongzhou, Hunan is a national "production demonstration zone" of high-quality vegetables. Relying on its geographical location advantage facing the Greater Bay Area, the sales volume of Yongzhou vegetables accounts for more than 30% of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area market. As an inland city, Yongzhou is not along the border or by the sea, but can reach the Hong Kong market directly in as fast as 7 hours. How did this be done?

In the fields of Yongzhou, Hunan, continuous vegetable planting bases can be seen everywhere. He Hailong is the head of an agricultural product export enterprise in Jiangyong County, Yongzhou City. His most important job every day is to supervise vegetable transport vehicles from Yongzhou to Hong Kong across regions, and depart on time at 12:30 noon every day.
At He Hailong's vegetable processing base, the reporter saw that two vehicles transporting vegetables were equipped with vehicle license plates from Guangdong and Hong Kong, which means that these vehicles could be directly driven to the Hong Kong border. Solved the previous problems of processing, transportation and secondary packaging in Shenzhen. Not only save time, but also reduce costs. Yongzhou Customs also pre-orders the export sampling to the planting and processing links, and exported vegetables do not need to be sampled and tested in the customs clearance link.

Li Jiangmin, Deputy Director of Customs of Yongzhou, Hunan: We have innovatively carried out such a reform pilot of cross-regional direct supply in Hunan, and carried out planting, production, processing, packaging and inspection at the place of production, and supplying directly across regions from the place of production, can be supplied to Hong Kong for 7 hours, ensuring the quality, safety and freshness of vegetables.

At present, Yongzhou's vegetables not only go directly to the dining tables of residents of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, but are also sold to 27 countries and regions. Behind this is the change in the development idea of vegetable farmers from "what they grow and sell" to "what they want and what they grow" in the market.
Introducing foreign vegetable varieties may not be able to be sold if they are not planted well. In order to solve this problem, the local government has formulated the "Ten Measures to Promote the Large-scale Standardization Construction of Vegetable Bases" to implement standardized, high-quality seeds and green planting. In order to strictly limit the amount of pesticides and fertilizers, the reporter saw that the local area would break vegetables with no value and return them to the fields to increase the organic content of the land. The facilities and methods for physical insect extermination can also be seen everywhere in the fields.

Liu Wen told reporters that their base has now begun to introduce Japanese varieties of vegetables, and will be sold to Japan after planting with high standards.
As of now, Yongzhou City has built 159 vegetable "vegetable basket" certification bases and 110 certified vegetable filing bases for Hong Kong and Macao in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. 15 new vegetable varieties have been introduced and cultivated, forming an industrial layout of "four-season fresh sales", "special export" and "off-season export".
