CCTV News: According to the website of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the transportation production of the entire civil aviation industry achieved a stable start at the beginning of 2025, and the main transportation production indicators all increased year-on-year. From January to February, the total transportation turnover was 25.7 billion tons, passenger transport volume was 130 million, and cargo and mail transport volume was 1.426 million tons, an increase of 10.5%, 5.5% and 9.8% year-on-year, of which the size of the international passenger transport market has exceeded the level of the same period before the epidemic.

Since this year, driven by factors such as steady growth in the domestic economy, increasing Spring Festival holidays, and strong consumer markets, the air transportation market has achieved good growth. From January to February, the civil aviation industry completed a total transportation turnover of 25.7 billion tons and kilometers, of which the domestic market maintained steady growth, with a total transportation turnover of 16.67 billion tons and a year-on-year increase of 3.7%; the international market maintained rapid growth, with a total transportation turnover of 9.03 billion tons and a year-on-year increase of 25.8%.

In terms of passenger transport, from January to February, passenger transport volume remained at a high level. The popularity of travel during the Spring Festival holiday in the early 2019 has increased. In addition, the market demand for air passenger transport such as returning home during the Spring Festival and returning to work is sufficient. The civil aviation industry has completed a total of 126 million passengers. Among them, the domestic passenger transport market completed a total of 114 million passengers, an increase of 2.8% year-on-year. Driven by holiday travel, the passenger volume of routes related to tourist cities has grown rapidly and the number of flights has increased significantly. The passenger volume of Harbin-Shanghai, Beijing-Xi'an, Shenzhen-Xi'an has achieved double-digit growth year-on-year, and the average daily flights of Chengdu-Xishuangbanna and Chengdu-Shenzhen have increased by more than 10 times. The international passenger transport market grew rapidly. From January to February, Chinese airlines completed 12.84 million passengers on international routes, a significant increase of 38.6% year-on-year, an increase of 6.5% over the same period in 2019. Among them, the passenger transport routes from China to Japan, Thailand and South Korea are relatively large, while the passenger growth level of China to Russia, Spain, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, Laos, Italy, the United Arab Emirates and other routes is relatively high.

In terms of freight, since the beginning of this year, the air cargo market has maintained a good growth trend, and the traditional off-season around the Spring Festival has achieved "not being lighter than being lighter". From January to February, the civil aviation industry completed 1.426 million tons of cargo and mail transportation, of which the domestic freight market maintained steady growth, with 851,000 tons of cargo and mail transportation, a year-on-year increase of 4.9%. Excluding leap year factors, the average daily freight and mail transportation increased by 6.7% year-on-year; the growth rate of the international freight market rebounded, achieving rapid growth, with 575,000 tons of cargo and mail transportation, a year-on-year increase of 17.9%, an increase of 3.3 percentage points from December 2024.
