Liping is located in the southeast of Guizhou Province, at the intersection of Guizhou, Hunan and Guizhou provinces (regions).
The construction here has a long history and a profound red background. The "Liping Conference" was the first meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee held by the Red Army during the Long March, laying an important foundation for the Zunyi Conference.
The Dong village here has unique charm. Liping is the county with the largest population of Dong ethnic groups in the country. The Zhaoxing Dong Village, the "No. 1 Dong village" is concentrated in displaying ethnic culture. The Dong ethnic song has been included in the list of representative works of human intangible cultural heritage.
There is a superior ecological environment and the characteristic forestry industry is prosperous. Liping enjoys the reputation of "China's Famous Tea Hometown" and achieves a regional GDP of 11.983 billion yuan in 2024.
