Any valuable innovation can break out of regional restrictions, attract national and even global resources, and enjoy the dividends of the super-large-scale market

Coordinated innovation not only optimizes the spatial layout of innovation and forms the overall effect of "1+1>2", but also further narrows the innovation gap between regions

No matter where you are, it can connect the whole country. Innovation has become a field where all places can act together and divide labor and cooperation. It can do everything everywhere and everyone can do many unrelated things. Looking at it from another perspective, new trends may be captured.

In this spring, Hangzhou's "Six Little Dragons" set off a tech boom, and the movie "Nezha: The Devil Child's Trouble" ranked among the top in the global film history box office list. At first glance, there seems to be no connection between one thing, one science and technology innovation, and one animation. Think about it again, one represents a hard-core breakthrough in cutting-edge technology, and the other shows the advantages of the animation production industry chain, behind which innovation is innovation.

A careful analysis shows that in the past, China's innovations came more from the eastern region. So, is "Nezha: The Devil Child's Trouble" born in Chengdu just an individual case, or does it mean that the central and western regions are catching up in the innovation-driven development strategy?

Start your attention to the central and western regions, and the innovations are impressive. Business model innovations such as Pangdonglai were original in Henan; industrial innovations such as quantum computing and new energy vehicles emerged in Anhui; the longest desert railway and the longest desert "scarf", these "world's best" full of green technology have achieved success in Xinjiang. By connecting the pearls of innovation one by one, it is not difficult to find that the gap in innovation between the central and western regions and the eastern regions is significantly narrowing.

Why are there such new changes and new trends?

Accelerating the construction of a unified national market is playing an indispensable role. The world's largest high-speed rail network, highway network, and postal express network have "smalled" China; 5G is connected to every county and broadband is connected to every village, and the penetration rate of 5G users exceeds 60%, making China "faster"; remove hidden barriers, eliminate regional discrimination, unify market rules, and achieve "one bowl of water" in the country.

The unified large market and smooth dual circulation allow the free flow of factors and resources. Any valuable innovation can break away from geographical restrictions, attract national and even global resources, and enjoy the dividends of a super-large-scale market. The original location shortcomings and traffic disadvantages are gradually dissipated, and the central and western regions are the hinterland and can also be the forefront. By leaping into the dual circulation, the development space of the central and western regions has been opened up, and the vitality of innovation will naturally be released.

From this perspective, we can understand another new phenomenon, that is, there are more and more collaborative innovations between regions and closer cooperation.

Spanning Chaobai River, Beijing entrepreneurs rushed to Tianjin and Hebei, and parts from Tianjin and Hebei were also transported to Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone in intensively, with traffic flows and people storing "two-way"; in Hubei, the Optics Valley Science and Technology Innovation Corridor is becoming increasingly formed, with research and development in Wuhan, transformation in Ezhou, production and manufacturing in the "metropolitan area", and a corridor achieves "the same prosperity of science and technology". Collaborative innovation not only optimizes the spatial layout of innovation and forms the overall effect of "1+1>2", but also further narrows the innovation gap between regions.

Is this kind of regional collaborative innovation only stuck to the gradient transfer of manufacturing?

Of course it's more. Breaking barriers and coordinated development has surpassed the traditional manufacturing field, and many new paradigms of cooperation have emerged. "Little sugar oranges bravely enter Harbin" drive Heilongjiang and Guangxi's "visiting" cultural tourism. Transferring from the "ice city" to the "summer capital", Harbin sincerely invited Guangxi's "old iron" to come to escape the summer heat; Guangxi invited the "little Siberian tiger" to enjoy the mountains and rivers of Guilin, and experience cutting sugar oranges and cutting sugar cane. The north and south meet each other, not thousands of miles away, nor are they separated by mountains and seas, and they write a great article about cultural and tourism integration spanning more than 3,000 kilometers, opening up the imagination space for coordinated development.

The local area is no longer a restriction, and every dream seed can cross the mountains and seas. Ningxia, the pearl on the frontier, has built science and technology innovation bases in first-tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen in recent years, and has planted new experimental fields for scientific and technological cooperation between the east and the west with high-quality science and technology innovation resources. A high-performance organic pigment company has set up a stage through the Ningxia Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Center to sign an order of nearly US$200,000 with European customers to open the European automotive coating market.

During this year's National Two Sessions, General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized when participating in the deliberation of the Jiangsu delegation: "To focus on the integration of scientific and technological innovation and industrial innovation, we must build a platform, improve the system and mechanism, strengthen the position of enterprises as the main body of innovation, and allow the innovation chain and the industrial chain to be seamlessly connected." The formation of a unified national market has further activated market capacity and industrial supporting capabilities. No matter where you are, you can connect the whole country. Innovation has become a place where all places can act together and divide labor and cooperation. You can do everything and everyone can do it, and more innovative achievements will surely emerge.
