Editor's note: The roads are open and all industries are prosperous. Rural roads represented by the "Four Good Rural Roads" are intertwined and well-connected, connecting thousands of miles of rivers and mountains, smoothing passenger flow and logistics for urban-rural integration, driving a tremendous change in the overall appearance of the countryside, and becoming a road to prosperity, happiness and revitalization at the doorstep of the people. China Radio International has specially launched a series of reports on "Flowering Pulsing China on the Country Road". Following the "Four Good Rural Roads", visiting villages, entering the countryside, looking at industries, exploring the local cultural context, looking at development and changes, and feeling the vitality of China's rural revitalization in the new era with you.
China Radio and Television Bijie March 16th News Huawu Village, Xinren Miao Township, Qianxi City, Bijie, Guizhou Province in the early morning, woke up with the melodious singing of the embroiderers. Green mountains are surrounded by rivers, rivers are lingering, and on the rural roads with warm winds and suns, there are endless vehicles coming and going; outside the houses with black tiles and white walls, snow-colored cherry blossoms are covered with bluestone alleys... This Miao village, which was once hidden in the canyon, is now full of vitality.
Huawu Village, originally named "Huawuji", means "a village under the cliff", and is located on the banks of the Liuchong River in the upper reaches of the Wujiang River. The entire village is surrounded by steep mountains and rivers. In the past, due to traffic jams and lack of industry, it fell into deep poverty. The local traditional craft - Huawu Miao Embroidery - was also "hidden in the deep boudoir and unrecognized by people."

"Go out of the mountain, 'hand-pulling rock', drinking water by the river, and living in thatched huts, this was a true portrayal of our village." Embroiderer Yang Wenli introduced that the road was blocked at that time, there were few tourists, and the embroidery products could not be transported out, and the sales volume was not optimistic.
Who would have thought that the "cliff village" that used to live a poor life has now become a "rich village" and a "cultural village". All this is inseparable from the opening of the Xinren-Huawu Rural Road.
In 2007, Mao Road from Xinren Miao Township to Huawu Village was built; in 2009, hardened tourist highways were connected to Huawu Village; in 2017, village-to-group roads were built to the doorsteps of villagers. By the end of 2021, the 8.4-kilometer-long Xinren to Huawu Tourism Highway was successfully completed and accepted. Starting from the left side of the exit of the Xinren Toll Station of Guizhou Expressway, more than 7,300 people were welcomed along the route, including Renmu Village, Dongfeng Village, Qunyi Village, and Huawu Village.
"The road is open and there is enough confidence in development." Seeing that the road is constantly being built and improved, Yang Wenli quickly found the "going" and aimed at traditional Miao craftsmanship, becoming the leader of the local Miao embroidery industry.

" With the opening of the highway, the integration of rural passenger, freight and mail has helped express parcels enter the villages. Through online orders, market exhibitions, etc., Miao Embroidery has truly walked out of the mountains. Now my Miao Embroidery order allows 60 embroidery girls from surrounding villages to complete products at home and increase their income." Yang Wenli said.
The continuous growth of the industry has also brought greater development opportunities to the local Miao embroidery. At present, Huawu Village has continuously expanded the scale of Miao embroidery workshops and developed more than 100 kinds of Miao embroidery batik cultural and creative products. It has been launched into the market through e-commerce and Internet celebrities selling goods, and has sold well at home and abroad. It has an annual sales of more than 2.2 million yuan, helping villagers increase their income and become rich together.
All the road is open, all industries are prosperous. The butterfly-changing Huawu Village has truly achieved the purpose of making people "flow" into the village, the materials "flow" into the village, and the money "flow" into the household.
Convenient transportation has attracted more tourists to Huawu Village to experience the charm of Miao embroidery up close. Relying on the local natural scenery, Huawu Village has formed an integrated development of tourism and culture, and rural tourism formats such as landscape tourism, study and field research, camping and picnic have emerged. The winding rural roads have gathered popularity and allowed Miao Xiu to walk out of the mountains and open a new chapter of rural revitalization.
