CCTV News: Recently, China's 41st Antarctic expedition team completed the ocean inspection tasks of the Amundsen Sea and Ross Sea in the Antarctic. During this period, the scientific expedition team carried out many operational projects, one of which was fishing and understanding the distribution and resource volume of fish in the relevant sea areas.
In the operational project of the expedition team, there is one called "middle-level fish" trawling net. Middle-layer fish are generally located in a water depth of 200 to 200 kilometers. In this water layer, there are many large zooplankton and lantern fish, etc. They are both bait for large fish and predators for other zooplankton.
During the Amundsen Sea operation, on average, more than 50 fish can be dragged up in each middle-level fish net, mainly including side-line Antarctic fish, small-toothed garden-covered fish near the outer sea, Antarctic deep-sea salmon, etc.
The benthic trawl is operated at a depth of 500 meters. This time, more than 60 large benthic animals were initially identified in the Amundsen Sea.
