The reporter learned from the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development that the new round of pilot project for the protection and utilization of historical buildings was officially launched a few days ago. Eight cities (counties) including Qi County, Shanxi Province were listed as pilot cities to explore and solve problems such as untimely discovery of hidden dangers in the protection and utilization of historical buildings and imperfect repair technology.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development stated that this pilot aims to summarize and accumulate replicable and popularizable experiences and typical cases, form perceived, quantifiable and evaluable pilot results, and provide a demonstration for the national protection and utilization of historical buildings. Eight cities (counties) including Qi County, Shanxi Province, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, She County, Anhui Province, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, Qingdao City, Shandong Province, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, and Yulin City, Shaanxi Province have been listed as pilot cities. Each pilot city will conduct innovative explorations around the work of historical building physical examination and evaluation mechanism, protection and repair paths, digital and intelligent applications, fire safety technology, and revitalization and utilization policies.
In the next step, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development will continue to track the progress of the pilot cities, guide the pilot implementation to explore and innovate technical standards, policy measures and implementation paths for the protection and utilization of historical buildings, and provide support for improving laws and regulations and issuing policy standards at the national level.
